Terms of Use — Solar Project Form

Last Updated: April 27, 2026

Solutions Otonomi Inc.

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") apply when you use the online form ("Form") that helps you describe your solar project to your installer. The Form is operated by Solutions Otonomi Inc. ("Solutions Otonomi", "we", "us"), a Québec company located at 218 avenue Redfern, app. 17, Westmount (Québec) H3Z 2G3, Canada.

You ("you") are typically reaching this Form because a solar installer (your "Installer") shared a link with you. The Form is hosted by us on our own website but may be branded with your Installer's name and colours.

By starting to fill out the Form, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. What the Form Does

The Form helps you provide your Installer with the information they need to understand your solar project. You'll be asked to describe things like:

  • your contact information (name, email, phone, address);
  • your home and roof (orientation, slope, materials, photos);
  • your electricity needs (typical consumption, appliances, utility bill);
  • the type of project you're considering (off-grid, grid-tied, hybrid, etc.).

When you submit the Form, two things happen:

  1. Solutions Otonomi processes your information to generate an indicative project recommendation (estimated system size, equipment options, ballpark pricing, and return on investment estimates such as projected savings, payback period, and energy production); and
  2. Your information and the recommendation are shared with your Installer so they can prepare a personalized proposal and contact you.

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to use the Form.

2. Solutions Otonomi Is Not Your Installer

It's important that you understand the following:

(a) Solutions Otonomi is a software company. We make the Form and the platform your Installer uses. We do not sell, design, install, or service solar systems.

(b) The Installer is the company you'll do business with. Any solar system you eventually purchase will be sold and installed by your Installer (or someone they work with), not by Solutions Otonomi. Any contract for the system is between you and your Installer.

(c) We don't choose your Installer for you. You arrived at the Form through a link your Installer provided, which means you've already chosen who you want a proposal from.

(d) We don't endorse or warranty your Installer. We have no control over your Installer's quality, pricing, timelines, or after-sales service. Any complaint about installation, equipment, or service should be directed to your Installer first.

3. The Recommendation Is Indicative Only

The system recommendation, sizing estimates, equipment suggestions, return on investment estimates (including projected savings, payback period, and energy production), and any pricing you see through the Form are indicative only. They are starting points to help you and your Installer have a useful conversation. They are not:

  • a fixed quote;
  • engineering specifications;
  • a guarantee that the system will perform as described;
  • a guarantee of equipment availability or pricing.

Your Installer will review the information you provided, may need to visit your property, and will give you a final proposal. Always rely on your Installer's final proposal, not the Form's preview, before making any decision or signing any contract.

4. Your Information

4.1 You're responsible for what you submit

You agree that the information you provide is your own and that you have the right to share it. If you upload utility bills, photos of your home, or other documents, you confirm that:

  • the documents are yours (or you have permission to share them);
  • the photos don't include people who haven't agreed to be photographed; and
  • the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4.2 We use your information to deliver the service

We use the information you submit to (a) generate the project recommendation, (b) share it with your Installer, and (c) send you the email confirmations needed to follow up on your project. We use it for nothing else, except as described in our Privacy Policy.

4.3 You can change your mind

If you decide you don't want your Installer to contact you, you can email us at privacy@solutions-otonomi.com or contact your Installer directly to ask them to stop. We'll explain in our Privacy Policy what we can and can't do once your information has been shared.

4.4 Photos and uploaded documents

The Form may let you upload photos of your roof, electrical panel, or utility bills. These uploads stay yours — we don't claim ownership. We use them only to deliver the service to you and to share them with your Installer for the purpose of preparing your proposal.

4.5 What your Installer may send you

Once your information is shared with your Installer, your Installer becomes responsible for how they communicate with you. You should expect them to:

  • contact you about your proposal and project (this is why you submitted the Form);
  • follow up about installation, warranty, service, or related solar products and services they offer.

Your Installer may also send you newsletters, promotions, or other marketing emails. Canadian anti-spam law (CASL) and Québec privacy law (Law 25) require your Installer to identify themselves clearly and to give you a way to unsubscribe in every commercial email. If you no longer want to receive marketing emails from your Installer, click the unsubscribe link in their email or contact them directly. Solutions Otonomi is not responsible for emails sent by your Installer — those are governed by your Installer's own privacy policy and applicable law.

5. Things You Can't Do With the Form

When using the Form, please don't:

  • submit information that isn't yours, or that belongs to someone else who hasn't agreed;
  • upload anything illegal, offensive, or harmful;
  • try to break, hack, or interfere with the Form;
  • use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Form;
  • impersonate someone else;
  • create multiple submissions to spam the system or your Installer.

6. The Form Is Provided "As Is"

We work hard to keep the Form working well, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee it will always work without errors, that it will always be available, or that the recommendations it generates will be perfect for your situation.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • decisions you make based on the Form's preview or recommendations (the final proposal from your Installer is what counts);
  • the quality, performance, pricing, or after-sales service of your Installer or the solar system they sell you;
  • the accuracy of equipment specifications shown in the Form (your Installer should confirm everything in their final proposal);
  • temporary unavailability of the Form.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where applicable law (including the Civil Code of Québec and the Consumer Protection Act of Québec) prevents such limitation or exclusion. In particular, nothing here limits liability for gross or intentional fault, bodily injury, or moral injury, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

7. Our Content

The Form, our website, our software, our logos, and our brand belong to us. You may use the Form for the purpose of getting a solar proposal from your Installer. Please don't copy, reuse, or redistribute our software, design, or content for any other purpose.

If you give us suggestions or feedback about the Form, we may use them freely without owing you anything.

8. Privacy

We take privacy seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, where it's stored (a Montréal datacenter for our backend, with some frontend infrastructure that may be in the United States), and how you can exercise your rights — including access, correction, deletion, and complaints.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of the page tells you when the most recent version took effect. If you continue to use the Form after we update the Terms, your continued use means you accept the new version. If you don't agree with the changes, you can stop using the Form.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Québec, unless the law gives you the right to bring it in another jurisdiction (for example, where you live).

11. Language

These Terms are made available in English and French. In case of conflict, the French version prevails for users residing in Québec, in accordance with the Charter of the French Language.
